Hospice
Hospice represents an interdisciplinary, holistic approach to caring for people with a life-threatening illness, either in the patient's home or in a facility. The patient and family together are considered a single unit of care. Hospice combines the skills of physicians, nurses, clergy, psychotherapists, social workers, and volunteers who, together with the family, design and implement the care plan. Care continues for the family after the patient's death.
